Ged was promoted to Partner in 2017 and plays a key role within our Commercial Disputes team as head of department.
Commencing employment with the firm in January 2016, Ged previously spent 15 years with leading Newcastle law firm. After qualifying as a solicitor in 2002, he has practised as a commercial disputes lawyer ever since. Originally joining the firm in an Associate role, Ged was promoted to Partner in 2017.
Ged is an experienced commercial lawyer who specializes in contractual and tortious disputes, including fraud cases, professional negligence claims, product liability matters, claims against suppliers, partnership/shareholder disputes and contract disputes more generally. He has acted for clients through litigation, mediation, and arbitration.
Advising both public and private sector clients, Ged has dealt with a variety of sectors including manufacturing & engineering, chemical, energy, transport, regeneration, waste, education, sports, and entertainment. He has also managed disputes in a number of jurisdictions.
Previously a governor at a further education college, Ged is currently a trustee on the board of Tees Valley Arts.
I have worked with Ged for a number of years and have always found him to be very approachable. He provides good case analysis, is sensible but tough when required. He is proactive, switched on and to the point. I have found his guidance to be invaluable.
