Martin McKinnell

Martin began his career with the firm in 2010 and was appointed Partner in 2019.

Starting out at the firm as a trainee solicitor, Martin qualified as a solicitor within our Corporate and Commercial team before being promoted to an Associate in 2016. He is now our in-house technology specialist and heads up the team.

Martin regularly advises on a variety of complex commercial matters including distribution agreements, franchise agreements, agency agreements and terms and conditions of business, Martin has a particular focus on IT and e-commerce law, regularly advising clients on the website and mobile application terms and conditions.

Martin also specialises in corporate matters including both transactional and non-transactional work. Martin advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, investments, shareholders’ agreements and other constitutional matters, MBOs/MBIs, reorganisations and share option schemes.

In addition, Martin contributes to the firm’s intellectual property offering dealing with “non-litigious” matters such as trademark applications, passing off, copyright and other intellectual property advice.

Martin’s client base is wide ranging from start-ups to SME’s to multi-national corporations across a variety of different sectors.
